With this, this study aims to determine the preparations undertaken by the participants before teaching Physical Education in the Senior High School ; the challenges and coping strategies they encountered while teaching subjects that are not their field of specialization ; and the learning experiences in teaching Physical Education. The participants were 8 non-Physical Education major teachers teaching Physical Education in the Senior High School in Tagudin District. The data were gathered using face–to–face interview, phone calls, and chat messages. The study found that the preparations made by the participants before teaching Physical Education were: reviewed the curriculum guide in Health Optimizing Physical Education; attendance to seminar in P.E.; and technical preparations in teaching. The challenges encountered by the participants were limited support for Physical Education and lack of pedagogical skills in teaching Physical Education. While, their coping mechanisms were: expanding professional network and work ethics attribute, and making instruction stimulating for learners. In addition, the insights of participants from teaching were: importance of a teacher placement in Physical Education; becoming flexible as a responsibility; and expanding one’s limits in teaching Physical Education. Lastly, the Thematic Model on Teaching Experiences of Out-of-Field Physical Education Teachers can serve as basis for school administrators in crafting action or development plan to address the problems posed by out-of-field teaching.
