The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) hosted its highly anticipated annual General Assembly, College Performance Review, and Year-End Thanksgiving Celebration on December 18, 2024. The event, held at the Main Campus Gymnasium, was a significant occasion to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and set the tone for the year ahead.
The day’s activities began with a Thanksgiving Mass, led by Fr. Lovell Soller, setting a reflective and grateful atmosphere. Following the Mass, ISPSC employees gathered for the General Assembly. The assembly provided an opportunity for the faculty and staff to review the college's achievements, discuss key updates, and celebrate the progress made in 2024. The Faculty Union also presented the Amendments to Salient Provisions of the Faculty Manual, addressing important updates for the academic staff.
Dr. Jaime Raras, Campus Director of the ISPSC Main Campus, opened the year end celebration with a Welcome Address, welcoming all employees and acknowledging their dedication throughout the year.
A highlight of the event was the State of the College Address and Holiday Greetings delivered by Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, the OIC of the Office of the SUC President III. In her heartfelt message, Dr. Ferrer praised the ISPSC community for its growth, resilience, and achievements. She reflected on the challenges of the year, noting that the institution had seen success through collaboration, dedication, and innovation. Dr. Ferrer specifically highlighted the college's progress in increasing enrollment, launching new initiatives, and meeting key targets in various academic areas.
"As we celebrate our successes today, let us also look ahead to greater achievements," Dr. Ferrer said. "We have the collective strength to tackle any challenges that come our way. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and push beyond our limits."
The assembly also focused on cultivating a spirit of unity and collaboration, with Dr. Ferrer encouraging open feedback and continuous improvement. She reminded everyone that the future success of ISPSC lies in the power of working together and respecting one another's perspectives.
The event also featured a festive atmosphere, with a color-coding scheme for attendees based on their campus locations: Green for Southern Campuses (Cervantes and Tagudin), Red for Mid Campuses (Main and Candon), and Yellow for Northern Campuses (Santiago, Sta. Maria, and Narvacan). This vibrant touch added to the excitement of the celebration. A festive Thanksgiving Lunch brought the ISPSC family together, allowing everyone to enjoy a shared meal in the spirit of community.
One of the highlights of the Year end gathering was the Christmas Dance Craze competition, where the Tagudin Campus emerged as the champion, with Santa Maria Campus as the first runner-up and Candon Campus as the second runner-up.
The celebration continued with the distribution of holiday presents, a gesture of appreciation for everyone’s hard work throughout the year. The day culminated in a Raffle Draw and Parlor Games hosted by the Faculty Union and Non-Teaching Personnel Union, ensuring a fun and lively end to the celebration.
In her Closing Remarks, Dr. Anna Marie D. Barroga, Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed her gratitude for the collective efforts of the ISPSC community and emphasized the importance of maintaining a collaborative and innovative environment as the institution moves forward into 2025.
