Abstract

The infamous breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019 disrupted the comfort zone worldwide including the Department of Education. The usual face-to-face classes flipped into the promotion of a flexible learning modality. With this, the study wanted to assess the level of readiness and competency of the senior high school students in the four (4) integrated schools of Tagudin district, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur. Applying descriptive–correlational design and use of mode and ordinal regression analyses, data were gathered, treated, and interpreted. Results showed that the students are slightly competent and prepared with the said modality. Results further showed that the competence and preparedness of learners for flexible learning vary from one school to another. This then led to the recommendation of the researchers to conduct a capability program like training or webinars specific for the learnings. This could be an avenue for an extension program.
