Abstract: Literacy is the foundation of learning. This study aimed to determine the literacy level of kindergarten pupils. It specifically determined the profile of the respondents. The study also determined the literacy level of the kindergarten learners in terms of emergent literacy, alphabetic fluency, words and patterns and numeric literacy. Lastly, it aimed to determine the significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and pupils’ level of literacy. This study employed descriptive research design. A total of 148 kindergarten learners of the ten public school served as the respondents of the study. Findings revealed that the emergent literacy, alphabetic fluency, words and patterns and numeric literacy level of the learners falls under the “above average”. The family monthly income of the learners significantly related to the respondents’ literacy level along the emergent literacy, alphabetic fluency, words and patterns and Numeric literacy. Also, the profile of the respondents along educational attainment and status of employment of both father and mother and the literacy level of the kindergarten respondents have significant relationship. Based on the above-cited findings and the results of the conducted test, the following are hereby recommended. Teacher must provide more guidance to the parents especially in teaching their literacy skills. Parents and anyone in the family should give ample time to the learners to guide them and teach them at home. Teachers should continue giving and providing learners activities to enrich further their skills in writing, reading and counting.
