Work Immersion of Senior High School Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Home Economics

Abstract: This study described the academic performance of the respondents in food and beverage services and the level of work immersion performance of the students before and during the COVID 19-pandemic. A descriptive and correlational methods of research were used to get the responses of Technical-Vocational-Livelihood(TVL) teachers, industry partners and 110 Technical-Vocational-Livelihood students. As such, this study developed the work immersion performances at Sinait National High School, Sinait Ilocos Sur as basis in formulating two year development plan. Quantitative analysis of data revealed that the Food and Beverage Services performance of the students before pandemic are very satisfactory, while satisfactory during the pandemic. Further, the students’ level of work immersion performance before the pandemic as assessed by the industry partners is very high which is the same during the pandemic as assessed by their teacher. All indicators are considered capabilities, hence, the development plan was formulated.Continuous evaluation of the Work Immersion Training Technical-Vocational-Livelihood-Home Economics may be conducted before, during and after the Work immersion and a training program may be conducted to prepare students to perform better in areas where they perform significantly lower during times of pandemic are recommended.
