ISPSC culminates 27th Charter Day Anniversary with a Gala Night, Awards and Recognition Ceremony

The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) concluded its two-day celebration of the 27th Charter Day Anniversary with a Gala Night and the Awards and Recognition 2025, held on May 2 at the Main Campus.

The evening commenced with a grand march, where guests, college officials, and employees marched in traditional Filipiniana attire.

This was immediately followed by a solemn Doxology performed by the Linglingay Employee Chorale from the ISPSC Tagudin Campus.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Dominador A. Ayson, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, emphasized that PRAISE awards are prestigious awards to recognize the ISPSC employees' exceptional government service. He also added that the event was a moment to acknowledge the tireless efforts, unwavering commitment, and relenting passion of the employees that impacted the organization.

Fostering camaraderie, ISPSC personnel then came together for a unity dance, symbolizing the solidarity and shared vision of the institution.

The celebration continued with a toast led by Dr. Joanna Marie T. Guarin, Dean of the College of Business, Management, and Entrepreneurship (CBME) in Sta. Maria Campus.

Dr. Mario P. Obrero, SUC President III, followed with an inspirational address in which he stated that the night is a celebration of the legacy of the college. The event is also a time to honor the visionary founder of the college, Hon. Eric D. Singson whose foresight and commitment to quality education gave birth to the college.

Dr. Obrero emphasized that the PRAISE award was a way to recognize the commitment, competence and character of the ISPSC employees. Moreover, he said that dedication is rewarded and any contribution, big or small, will be honored.

Dr. Anna Marie D. Barroga, Vice President for Academic Affairs, then introduced the evening’s guest of honor and keynote speaker, Hon. Eric D. Singson, Mayor of Candon City.

In his message, Mayor Singson said that ensuring access to quality education is one of his priorities. He said that he is committed to adapting innovative systems and processes to develop the quality of education in the community.

Furthermore, Mayor Singson emphasized, "LGU candon will always be behind you." He reiterated his steadfast commitment and support for the college. He concluded by saying his hopes that at the end of the year, ISPSC will become the University of Ilocos Philippines (UIP).

One of the evening’s most awaited segments was the Awards and Recognition 2025, honoring outstanding ISPSC employees across all seven campuses. The awards celebrated exceptional service, dedication, and leadership, reinforcing ISPSC’s commitment to recognizing merit and excellence within its academic and administrative ranks.

To close the event, Dr. Jaime G. Raras, Main Campus Director, delivered a heartfelt message. He stated the 3Ps mentioned by the president: passion, pride, and productivity. He also gave a piece of advice to the aspiring awardess for next year that is to uphold competence, commitment, and character.

The Gala Night and Awards and Recognition Ceremony served as a fitting conclusion to ISPSC’s 27th Charter Day celebration—a night of reflection, recognition, and renewed resolve for the future of the college.
