Groundbreaking Ceremony of ISPSC's Two-Storey Income Generating Project-Production Building: A Step Towards Innovation and Production
January 20, 2025 – Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC), recently marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of its two-storey Income Generating Projects-Production Building. This new facility is set to be a game-changer for the college, enhancing its ability to develop business incubation, provide efficient office spaces, and support its core function of production.
The ceremony was attended by a supportive array of dignitaries, including Hon. Mayor Eric D. Singson, Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, the OIC President of ISPSC, Rev. Fr. Jack Cabatu, and other key officials, faculty, and staff members. The event underscored the shared commitment to strengthening ISPSC’s mission to provide quality education while nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among its students and the broader community.
One of the cornerstones of ISPSC’s academic mission is its focus on production, which includes facilitating business-oriented projects and programs that integrate academic learning with real-world business applications. With the construction of the Income Generating Projects-Production Building, this vision is set to become even more of a reality.
Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, the OIC President of ISPSC, highlighted the importance of the new building in cultivating partnerships and supporting the development of income-generating projects (IGPs) that will enefit not just the institution, but the local community as well. The facility will house offices dedicated to overseeing the college’s IGPs, including spaces for the Director of Income Generating Projects, coordinators, and project leaders. These offices will play a crucial role in facilitating processes and transactions related to the management and operations of various projects.
The two-storey building is a necessary infrastructure that will accommodate the growing demands of the college’s income-generating initiatives. With a total cost of Php 4,400,335.40, funded by the Fiduciary Funds from IGP resources, the building will provide not only office spaces but also areas for business incubation that will further drive innovation and entrepreneurship. This initiative is expected to support the development of additional IGPs, as well as expand the existing ones, providing the students, faculty, and staff with a dynamic environment where business ideas can flourish.
In her speech, Dr. Ferrer also emphasized that the construction of the building represents more than just a physical space, it signifies the strengthening of partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders. These collaborations will play a crucial role in the sustainability and success of IGPs, opening up opportunities for students to engage in hands-on experiences, internships, and possible employment pathways in various industries.
Dr. Dominador A. Ayson Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, shared his high hopes for the future of ISPSC’s IGPs, explaining that the new building would help propel the institution to greater heights. “This facility will surely trigger the establishment of additional IGPs, expanding our existing projects, and ultimately maintaining and enhancing the diverse programs, activities, and projects that support the development of our students,” Dr. Ayson said.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for ISPSC, one that brings with it a promising future of innovation, growth, and collaboration. With the continued support of local leaders, faculty, staff, and the wider community, the two-storey Income Generating Projects-Production Building will not only advance the college’s mission but also serve as a beacon for the future of business education in the region.
As ISPSC continues to move forward, the establishment of this new facility symbolizes the commitment to providing quality, hands-on learning experiences that will prepare students for success in the ever-evolving business landscape. Through this building, ISPSC is not just building structures, it is laying the foundation for a thriving entrepreneurial institution that will benefit generations to come.
