  • ISPSC Board of Trustees strengthens shared governance and student representation

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive governance and strategic institutional development during the ISPSC Board of Trustees (BOT) activities held on August 1, 2026, at the Van Gogh Hotel in Candon City.

    The activities were led by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson and ISPSC Board of Trustees Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, together with ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero, and attended by members of the Board and key college officials.

    The day's engagements began with a courtesy call on Hon. Eric D. Singson, Candon City Mayor and ISPSC Founder, underscoring the enduring partnership between the College and the local government in advancing quality higher education and community development.

    Prior to the formal Board meeting, the oath-taking of ISPSC Student Trustee Hon. Eduard Thody Maru P. Ollero was administered, reaffirming the institution's commitment to inclusive and participatory governance by ensuring that the student body is represented in the College's highest policymaking body.

    The Board of Trustees subsequently convened to deliberate and act on key agenda items that will shape the institution's governance, academic and administrative priorities, and long-term development. The meeting also served as a vital platform for advancing policies and strategic initiatives as ISPSC continues its transition toward becoming the University of Ilocos Philippines.
