  • ISPSC holds groundbreaking for men's dormitory, receives multipurpose vehicle from City Government of Candon

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College marked another milestone in strengthening student welfare and institutional services through the groundbreaking ceremony for its three-storey men's dormitory and the turnover and blessing of a multipurpose vehicle donated by the City Government of Candon, on July 6 at ISPSC Main Campus.

    Rev. Fr. Lovell U. Soler, Parish Priest of San Juan de Sahagun Parish, officiated the blessing of the groundbreaking ceremony and turnover of the multipurpose vehicle, spearheaded by Dr. Mario P. Obrero, ISPSC President; Hon. Eric D. Singson, Candon City Mayor and ISPSC Founder; Dr. Filipinas M. Gasalao, Vice President for Finance and Administration; Dr. Jocelyn L. Absolor, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension; Dr. Sheryl S. Morata, Campus Director of Main Campus; and Engr. Ricky Molina, Director for Infrastructure and Development. 

    The event highlighted ISPSC's continuing commitment to providing a safe and conducive living environment for students through the construction of the new dormitory, which is expected to enhance residential facilities on the Main Campus. 

    Meanwhile, the turnover of the multipurpose vehicle has also strengthened the partnership between the local government and the institution. As emphasized by Hon. Singson, the vehicle has shown a full display of Candon City’s commitment as the city of love and care.  It is expected to support various academic, extension, and administrative activities of the institution.

    Dr. Obrero, in his message, expressed his gratitude and underscored the importance of sustained collaboration in advancing quality higher education and institutional development.

    The event was attended by college officials, deans, faculty, staff and students, who showed their support in the projects that promote student development and improve services.

    The groundbreaking ceremony and vehicle turnover is a confirmation of ISPSC's commitment to expanding its infrastructure and resources while fostering stronger partnerships with government and community stakeholders. (MVB)
