  • ISPSC Fellows Share Insights from UPLB Leadership Mentoring Program


    On November 15, 2024, three distinguished faculty from Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) participated in the exit presentations for the UPLB Higher Education Leadership Mentoring Fellowship Program (HELMFP). Dr. Joy G. Bea, Dean of the College of Computing Studies; Ms. Florence D. Sembrano, Director of Alumni Affairs; and Dr. Joana Maria Tuazon-Guarin, Dean of the College of Business Management and Entrepreneurship, shared their enriching experiences and key learnings from the program at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
    The session, hosted by the Office of Institutional Development for Higher Education (OIDHE) at UPLB, was attended by several notable UPLB guests including Associate Professor Concepcion Khan from the Institute of Computer Science and Ms. Emy Mariveles from the Office of Alumni Relations. Assistant Professor Ramoncito G. Cambel, OIDHE Program Coordinator, opened the event, highlighting the fellows’ contributions to the program.
    Dr. Bea discussed her insights into the academic policies and curriculum development at UPLB, emphasizing the need for continuous innovation in ISPSC’s IT programs. Ms. Sembrano presented her work on strengthening ISPSC’s Alumni network, proposing a comprehensive Alumni Engagement Framework to foster deeper connections and promote public service. Dr. Guarin shared her experience revising ISPSC’s agro-tourism program after consultations with UPLB’s Colleges of Agriculture, Economics, and Forestry, and expressed hopes for future collaborations between the two institutions.
    The event underscored the value of institutional partnerships and collaborative leadership in enhancing higher education services.
