  • ISPSC strengthens global academic ties in Jakarta, Indonesia

    As part of its continuing commitment to internationalization and academic excellence, the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College expands global partnership through MOA signing, research partnership, and international lectures with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKes) RS Husada, Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 21–22, 2026.

    The delegation was led by ISPSC Mario P. Obrero, together with Dr. Jocelyn L. Absolor, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension; Dr. Ana Blesilda C. Atendido, Director of the UIP Center for Rural Health Research, Reform and Policy; Ms. Jeneli Q. Wong, Chief of Rural Health Program Implementation and Outreach; Dr. Cecilia R. Vergara, Chief of Rural Health Systems Research; Mr. Modesto N. Noble, Chief of Health Reform and Policy Advocacy; and Dr. Mandy Roie A. Atendido, Chief of Research Ethics Committee.

    A major highlight of the visit was the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between ISPSC and STIKes RS Husada, formalizing a strategic international partnership that will strengthen collaboration in research, faculty and student mobility, academic exchange, extension services, capacity-building initiatives, scholarly publications, and other mutually beneficial academic endeavors.

    Highlighting the growing partnership between ISPSC and STIKes RS Husada, President Obrero delivered a public lecture showcasing the strengths and accomplishments of both institutions, emphasizing their shared vision for academic excellence, research, innovation, and internationalization. He underscored the vast opportunities for future collaboration that will promote global competitiveness, sustainable institutional development, and impactful contributions to higher education and healthcare.

    Further reinforcing this partnership, the two institutions officially commenced their collaborative research project, with data collection which was successfully conducted during the visit. This milestone reflects the shared commitment of ISPSC and STIKes RS Husada to producing high-quality, evidence-based research that addresses contemporary health challenges and contributes to improved healthcare outcomes and community well-being in both countries.

    The academic engagement was further enriched through a series of International Guest Lectures delivered by ISPSC faculty and researchers to the students and faculty members of STIKes RS Husada. 

    These engagements underscore ISPSC's commitment to expanding its global presence through meaningful international partnerships that enhance instruction, research, extension, and innovation. By fostering global collaborative partnerships, the institution continues to create transformative opportunities contributing to the advancement of global health education and scientific discovery.
