    ISPSC dominates AMPAYAG 2025, clinches multiple top honors in hospitality and tourism skills convergence

    Competing against top-tier institutions from Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, and Benguet, the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Sta. Maria Campus team earned a total of six medals- four golds, one silver, and one bronze, during the AMPAYAG 2025: 3rd International Hospitality and Tourism Research Conference and Skills Convergence, held on May 22–23, 2025 at the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

    With the theme “Visions of Victory: Leading the Global Shift in Hospitality and Tourism through Tradition and Innovation”, the event brought together academic leaders, industry professionals, and students to explore current research, promote cultural heritage, and enhance skills in the hospitality and tourism fields.

    ISPSC’s gold medalists included John Carlo A. Domingo and BJ Cachuela in the Lobby Centerpiece category, coached by Mr. Rizalino Christle Crisostomo and Ms. Mary Joy Cabotage. The Dream Team Challenge gold was secured by Jason Jandoc, Dharel Alim, and Jefferson Palit-ang, under the guidance of Mr. Frederick Llanes. In Table Setting with Centerpiece, Tracy Gayle Raboy and Martin took home the gold, mentored by Mr. Reinier Manalo and Dr. Joanna Marie T. Guarin.  Rowel Jadormeo also won gold in Cocktail Mixing, while Beejay Elefante earned bronze in the same category; both were coached by Ms. Marnesse Sobremonte and Mr. Benjo Quidulit.

    In Napkin Folding, Angel Degamo secured a silver medal, coached by Hazel Berras.

    ISPSC President Dr. Mario P. Obrero expressed pride in the students’ achievements saying, “Their dedication and hard work demonstrate the strength of our programs and the commitment of our faculty.” He also said his administration will continue to support the students in developing the skills they need to succeed and contribute meaningfully to their industries.
