  • ISPSC, PAPTR forge partnership to strengthen instruction and research

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) and the Philippine Association of Professional Teachers and Researchers (PAPTR) formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) aimed at strengthening instruction, research, and academic collaboration, May 28, 2026.

    The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two institutions in advancing quality education, professional development, and scholarly engagement. Key areas of collaboration include academic partnerships, participation and engagement of qualified ISPSC faculty members, academic leaders, graduate school representatives, researchers, and students in conference activities, as well as coordination, institutional support, and other development initiatives beneficial to both parties.

    The MOA signing was co-led by ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero and PAPTR President Dr. Ronaldo R. Larioque. Also present during the signing is ISPSC Graduate School Dean, Dr. Jaqueline G. Gumalallaoi and PAPTR Vice President, Dr. Luijim S. Jose. 

    The partnership underscores ISPSC's continuing commitment to fostering excellence in teaching, research, and extension services by providing its academic community with wider opportunities for professional growth, knowledge exchange, and collaborative learning.

    The MOA signing coincided with the conduct of the Advancing Scholarship, Curriculum Innovation, Engagement, and Novel Directions in Teaching and Research (ASCEND 2026) Conference held from May 28 to 30, 2026 in Baguio City.

    In the same event, ISPSC faculty members earned recognition. Dr. Gemma B. Somera and Dr. Geremy G. Sanchez received the Best Paper Award, while Dr. Christian C. Gandeza and Dr. Geraldine V. Reyes were honored as Best Presenters for their outstanding research presentations.

    Through collaborations such as the partnership with PAPTR, ISPSC continues to expand avenues for professional advancement, research productivity, and instructional excellence in pursuit of its mission of delivering quality higher education and responsive public service. (PAJ)
