  • ISPSC Planning Officer secures CHED HUSAY grant, completes INNOTECH Innovators SEAL Program

    Mr. John Michael Ragudo, Planning Officer III and Chief for Data Analytics and Knowledge Management, represented the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) in the first batch of Innovators SEAL: Future-Ready Data Skills for Smarter Higher Education Systems in the Philippines, a 12-day capacity-building program conducted by SEAMEO INNOTECH in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), with his participation funded through the competitive  CHED Higher Education Upskilling and Study for Advancement of Staff and Faculty (HUSAY) Program.

    The initiative brought together 44 leaders and representatives from higher education institutions across the country to develop their capacity in using data for institutional planning, decision-making, and quality assurance.

    Participants explored key areas of data literacy and analytics, including data governance and ethics, higher education analytics, the data management cycle, descriptive analytics, and predictive modeling for student success. The sessions also provided hands-on learning in transforming institutional data into meaningful and actionable insights.

    For ISPSC, the knowledge and skills gained through the program can support more systematic use of institutional data in planning, monitoring, and decision-making. These competencies may also contribute to the development and interpretation of data that inform institutional strategies, resource allocation, performance monitoring, and quality assurance initiatives.

    Ragudo’s participation further provides an opportunity to share data analytics practices and learning with relevant offices and units of the College, helping build a stronger culture of evidence-based planning as ISPSC continues its institutional development and transition toward the University of Ilocos Philippines.
