  • CHED Composite Team launches Institutional and Program Validation at ISPSC

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College formally commenced its Institutional and Program Validation with the CHED Composite Team, at the ISPSC Main Campus Hostel today, October 27 as part of its continuing efforts to ensure quality, strengthen academic programs, and uphold standards in higher education as it moves toward universityhood.

    During the opening ceremony, ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero expressed his appreciation to the presence and the expertise of the composite team and expressed, “We do not aspire to become a university merely to change our name. We aspire to become a university to expand our impact, elevate our purpose, and transform more lives.” 

    Dr. Cherrie Melanie A. Diego, Director IV of CHED Regional Office I, who also runs the bloodline of ISPSC quoted, “ More to the name of being called a university goes beyond core functions. Carry the zeal in your hearts. Let everyone in ISPSC, every member of the University of Ilocos Philippines, embody this commitment. Let us build a culture of excellence anchored in wisdom and virtue”.

    Introducing the CHED Composite Team, Dr. Lora L. Yusi, Director IV of OIQAG assured ISPSC of having the finest validators in terms of credibility. She also instilled the essence of committing not to the title or label of being a university but about the meaningful impact in the communities and the relevance of being grounded to the roots. “Be the best version of a university rooted in the Ilocano culture”, Director Yusi further emphasized.

    As it marks a significant step in the College’s continuing pursuit of institutional excellence, quality assurance, and strengthened academic standards, the activity sets the stage for a comprehensive assessment of the institution’s programs, policies, and practices in pursuit of quality higher education and its vision of becoming a smart, globally competitive, and locally responsive state university.
