  • ISPSC enters global top 10 for the first time, ranks 204 in WURI 2025

    In its first-ever entry into the global Top 10, the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) secured Rank 8 in Crisis Management (A5) in the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), while advancing to Rank 204 overall, moving up 60 places from its Rank 264 standing in 2025.

    Across multiple categories, ISPSC posted notable placements: 20th in Student Mobility and Openness (A2), indicating growing international engagement, and 29th in Financial Impact Driven Technology Transfer (C8), reflecting its ability to generate economic value from innovation.

    The College also placed 35th in Cost Effectiveness Management (B7) and 41st in Entrepreneurial Culture and Ecosystem (A4), showing support for efficiency and enterprise development.

    Further, ISPSC recorded Rank 44 in Funding for Sustainability (B5) and Rank 47 in University-Based Entrepreneurial Projects (C7), demonstrating continued efforts in sustainability and innovation initiatives. It also placed 51st in Interdisciplinary, Convergent, and Integrated Research (C2) and 87th in Infrastructure and Technology (B6).

    In addition, the College ranked 100th in AI-Based Teaching and Learning Transformation (C4).

    ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero said that the recognition reflects the collective work of the ISPSC community in strengthening innovation and institutional practices. He added that the College will “continue to enhance its programs and partnerships to sustain its performance in global rankings”.

    ISPSC, on its way to becoming the University of Ilocos Philippines, continues to build its presence in the global higher education landscape through sustained gains in innovation and institutional development.

    The WURI Rankings is a global ranking system centered on assessing institutions based on innovation, practical outcomes, and their contributions to society. (JGP)
