  • ISPSC leads 1st International Health Research Conference 2026

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College successfully spearheaded the 1st International Health Research Conference 2026, bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, educators, and academic leaders from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and other partner institutions in a two-day virtual conference on June 25-26, 2026.

    Initiated by ISPSC in partnership with Naresuan University (Thailand), STIKes RS Husada (Indonesia), the University of the Philippines, New Brunswick Community College, the Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC), Ilocos Sur Medical Center, and the Philippine Nurses Association-Ilocos Sur Chapter, the conference provided a global platform for presenting innovative health research, and strengthening international collaboration toward evidence-based healthcare.

    ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero underscored the importance of collaborative research in addressing emerging global health challenges. Dr. Ana Blesilda C. Atendido delivered the Statement of Purpose and Conference Overview which emphasized the conference's vision of advancing quality health research and translating scientific evidence into policy and practice.

    Dr. Sarah Jane Galano Tan, Dr. May Kwankaew Wongchareon, Dr. Yarwin Yari, Dr. Cyruz P. Tuppal, and Dr. Pratuma Rithpo, shared insights on post-pandemic health research, digital health and artificial intelligence, evidence-based nursing, health equity, policy reform, and emerging public health trends. A roundtable discussion further highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in transforming research into meaningful health policies and practices.

    Another major highlight of the conference was the Parallel Oral and Paper Presentation Competitions, which recognized outstanding research contributions and promoted scientific excellence among participants.

    The event concluded with the Conference Declaration and Commitment to Research Collaboration, reaffirming the participating institutions' shared dedication to advancing research. 

    By initiating and leading the 1st International Health Research Conference 2026, ISPSC further strengthened its role as a catalyst for global research collaboration to produce impactful research, expand international partnerships, and contribute to the advancement of healthcare and community well-being.
