    NEWS ISPSC Graduate School conducts literacy, numeracy extension programs in San Vicente

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Graduate School of Santa Maria Campus held an extension activity aimed at enhancing literacy and numeracy among high school learners of San Sebastian National High School (SSNHS) in San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, on August 4. 

    Titled “Academic Upscaling for the Learners of San Sebastian National High School, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur through Literacy and Numeracy Enhancement Program,” the activity is part of ISPSC’s continuing efforts to support academic development in the community. 

    Graduate School faculty members Dr. Orlando A. Batara, Dr. Marites J. Yacap, Dr. Enhelyn L. Morla, and Engr. Maria Theresa P. dela Rosa facilitated sessions focused on strengthening the basic literacy and numeracy skills of students. 

    In her message, Dr. Jocelyn L. Absolor, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, said the initiative was launched in response to the identified needs of the partner school, to foster student learning and confidence in core academic areas.

    Also present during the activity was Dr. Milagros O. Liberato, Director for Research. 

    This extension initiative is aligned with the institution’s commitment to community engagement and inclusive education, in response to ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero’s Onwards UIP framework to bring academic support programs closer to the community. (JGP)
