  • 127th Philippine Independence Day

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC), led by President Mario P. Obrero, participated in the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies in celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, held at Plaza Wayawaya, Candon City, Ilocos Sur on June 12, 2025.

    The wreath-laying ceremony at the monument of Dr. Jose P. Rizal was spearheaded by Dir. Zachary Singson-Meehan, Director II of the House of Representatives Office of the Deputy Speaker, and District Coordinator of Puso ti Agtutubo, alongside the heads of various government agencies.

    Also present during the commemorative activities was Dr. Filipinas M. Gasalao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, together with faculty and staff from the ISPSC Main and Candon Campuses.

    Following the ceremonial activities, the delegation also took part in the opening of the Kalayaan Job Fair, as well as the launch of the “One-Stop-Shop” at the Candon Civic Center.

    Aimed at providing employment opportunities to job seekers, the job fair featured 23 local employers offering a total of 1,026 job vacancies, 17 government agencies, and one overseas employer.

    This annual event is a joint initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Local Government of Candon, led by Hon. Mayor Eric D. Singson and Hon. Kristine Singson-Meehan, Deputy Speaker and Representative of the 2nd District of Ilocos Sur. (Ralph Nicole A. Sevilla)
