ISPSC and UNIFFIED Tagudin Chapter conduct leadership seminar to advance faculty development

The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Tagudin Campus, in collaboration with the United Federation of Fil-Am Educators (UNIFFIED) Tagudin Chapter, successfully conducted a leadership seminar on June 9, 2025, in Candon City. Themed “Unified Leadership: Empowering Others Through Shared Purpose,” the event aimed to strengthen the leadership capacities of faculty members by promoting unity, purpose, and integrity within the academic community.

The seminar, led by UNIFFIED Tagudin Chapter President Dr. Claire Santisteban, gathered 25 officers and members who participated in engaging discussions, mentoring sessions, and interactive activities centered on enhancing collaboration, accountability, and leadership skills among educators.

ISPSC President Dr. Mario P. Obrero graced the seminar and lauded the faculty for their commitment to personal and professional growth. He underscored the crucial role of educators in shaping future generations and building a stronger academic community.

Also present was Dr. Mariquit Obrero, UNIFFIED National Vice President for External Affairs and President of the Ilocos Sur Chapter. She provided guidance and mentorship, emphasizing the importance of unity, shared leadership, and collaborative growth in educational institutions.

The seminar featured keynote speaker Dr. Daniel Juan B. Ramirez, ISPSC Faculty Trustee and newly appointed Campus Director of ISPSC Tagudin Campus, who inspired attendees with a session on self-discovery as a foundation for effective leadership. Drawing from his recent professional development experience in the United States, Dr. Ramirez encouraged participants to reflect on their personal journeys as leaders in education.

Dr. Christian C. Gandeza, Special Assistant to the President, and Dr. Jonathan De la Cruz, Dean of the Graduate School- Tagudin Campus and Director for Institutional Planning were also in attendance. 

The seminar strengthened UNIFFIED Tagudin Chapter’s commitment to leadership development and highlighted ISPSC’s continued support for faculty advancement.
