  • ISPSC Faculty Researchers Achieve Global Recognition Through Scopus-Indexed Research Publications

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) proudly recognizes its faculty researchers whose scholarly works have been published in Scopus-indexed journals, marking a significant achievement for the institution in advancing research excellence and international academic visibility. These accomplishments reflect ISPSC’s strong commitment to knowledge production, innovation, and evidence-based scholarship across various fields of study.

    The Scopus-indexed publications of ISPSC faculty cover a wide range of disciplines, including education, social sciences, language and communication, agriculture, microbiology, phytochemical studies, and nursing. Through their rigorous research efforts, these faculty members have contributed valuable insights that address contemporary academic and societal concerns, strengthening the College’s role as a research-oriented higher education institution.

    Among the recognized researchers is Jocelyn L. Absolor, whose study on the attainment of outcomes-based education in higher education was published in Lex Localis – Journal of Local Self-Government. Christian Gandeza and Lei Ann Sevilleja also earned international recognition with their research on language fillers as a strategy for enhancing oral discourse, published in the TPM Journal. Emed F. Manzano contributed to social science research through a study on lifelong learning practices and coping mechanisms of students in the new normal, published in the Journal of Multidisciplinary in Social Sciences.

    Further strengthening ISPSC’s research footprint are multiple publications in FishTaxa – Journal of Fish Taxonomy. These include studies by Gemalyn Tenoc and Daniel Juan B. Ramirez on the phytochemical and microbial properties of calamansi peel extract; Marites U. Peralta, Richard D. Dela Cruz, Analyn D. Abella, and Cherrise May L. Hayohay on eggplant production under varying phenological stages and organic fertilizer treatments; Winston B. Leal, Lailani G. Mecos, and Tricia L. Gundran on phytochemical analysis of bugbugayong leaves extract; and a collaborative work by Christian C. Molina, Peter Paul L. Lazo, Robert S. Ablog, Patrick S. Gasmen, and Melissa Collo on the isolation of lactic acid bacteria from yacon plants.

    In the field of nursing and leadership studies, Cyruz P. Tuppal, Mandy Roie A. Atendido, Ana Blesilda C. Atendido, and Marina Magnolia Ninobla authored a qualitative study on the narratives of newly appointed deans of selected Philippine colleges of nursing, which was published in The Malaysian Journal of Nursing. This research adds to the growing body of literature on leadership experiences in higher education and healthcare training.

    These Scopus-indexed research publications underscore the dedication, competence, and scholarly excellence of ISPSC faculty researchers.
