NEWS ISPSC finishes strong with ‘zero’ non-conformity in ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit

The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) has once again proven its commitment to quality and excellence after passing the second external surveillance audit for ISO 9001:2015 with zero non-conformity on June 16-17, 2025.

The W3 Solutionz audit team, led by Ms. Cristy Rioja, Team Leader, and Ms. Monette Marasigan, Team Member, commended ISPSC for its sustained adherence to international quality management standards, affirming that no minor or major non-conformities were found.

“This clean result is a reflection of the institution’s continued efforts toward excellence and quality assurance,” the audit team emphasized.

Among the highlights of the audit was the active involvement of ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero, whose leadership in driving institutional improvement was recognized as a significant strength. The auditors noted that such engagement is a positive indicator that ISPSC is on the right path toward maturing its Quality Management System.

The institution also received commendations for its recent achievements, including its ranking as Top 4 Performing School (Category B) in the March 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers.

The audit team further lauded the new administration’s transformative initiatives to sustain institutional growth, which include implementation of a strategic development plan that lays the groundwork for ISPSC’s transition into the University of Ilocos Philippines (UIP).

This achievement forms part of ISPSC’s ongoing quality journey, marked by the successful conduct of Surveillance 1 in June 2024 and now Surveillance 2 in June 2025, leading up to its ISO 9001:2015 re-certification scheduled for June 2026. (RNS / JGP)
