LOOK CHED honors ISPSC for Global SDG milestones in 2025 Impact Rankings

Strengthening its presence on the global higher education map, the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for its performance in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.

The recognition was formally conferred during the “Ranked & Recognized: A Celebration of Philippine Higher Education Excellence” held at the CHED Central Office in Quezon City on June 24.

ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero and Special Assistant to the President Dr. Christian C. Gandeza represented the College during the awarding ceremony.

Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education and concurrently the Chairperson of the ISPSC Board of Trustees, delivered a congratulatory message during the ceremony. She emphasized the vital role of Philippine higher education institutions in contributing to global progress, noting that recognitions such as the THE Impact Rankings are not only milestones for individual institutions, but also testaments to the growing international presence and relevance of the country’s academic sector.

ISPSC’s inclusion in the prestigious global rankings solidifies its growing role in advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Notably, the College earned its highest placement under SDG 2: Zero Hunger, ranking 601-800 worldwide.

In addition, ISPSC placed 801-1000 in SDG 1: No Poverty and 1001-1500 in SDG 4: Quality Education. The college also landed in the 1501+ bracket for SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals. (JGP)
