  • ISPSC passes ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit, reinforces commitment to quality excellence

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College successfully conducted and passed its ISO 9001:2015 First Surveillance Audit on July 1-2, 2026 and was recommended for ISO Certification Maintenance which serves as a proof of its commitment to quality assurance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in the delivery of educational services across its campuses.

    Facilitated by SQC Certification Services Pvt. Ltd., the two-day audit evaluated ISPSC's compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) standards under the scope, focused on the provision of higher education services through instruction, research, extension and student support services.

    The activity officially opened through ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero, welcoming the auditors and the College's top management and emphasizing that quality assurance remains a cornerstone of ISPSC's pursuit of institutional excellence and responsive public service.

    After which was the opening meeting of the top management, process owners and auditors where Mr. Dante Bo, one of the auditors, emphasized,“The ISO is not an interrogation but a confirmation”. He further explained that the audit is not to look for mistakes but to look for established processes, maintain high standards consistently and partner with opportunities. 

    Ms. Khen David, the lead auditor, presented the audit plan details and flow of the process.

    The audit team simultaneously assessed key administrative offices, academic programs, and support units at the Central Administration and Main Campus, including Top Management, Internal Audit, Quality Assurance, ICT, Legal Office, Registrar, Student Affairs and Services, Research, Extension, Library, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Procurement, Alumni Affairs, NSTP, Technology Commercialization, Internationalization, and other vital operational units.

    The surveillance audit also expanded to ISPSC's external campuses, covering academic programs in Candon, Tagudin, Cervantes, Santiago, Sta. Maria, and Narvacan. 

    The audit concluded with the commendation of positive and best practices and presentation of findings and recommendations. 

    By undergoing its first surveillance audit, ISPSC continues to uphold recognized quality standards, ensuring that its processes remain aligned with its mission of delivering excellent and transformative higher education for the communities it serves. (MVB)
