  • ISPSC holds groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Academic Building – Phase I

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College Cervantes Campus marked another milestone in strengthening its academic facilities through the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Academic Building – Phase I on September 17, 2026, at the ISPSC Cervantes Campus, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.

    The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Rev. Fr. Constancio Koh, and was spearheaded by ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero; Dr. Dominador Ayson Jr., Chief Administrative Officer; Dr. Filipinas M. Gasalao, Vice President for Finance and Administration; Dr. Heidi Joy P. Bautista, Campus Director of Cervantes Campus; Engr. Ricky Molina, Director for Infrastructure and Development; Dr. Francisco N. Divina, Director for Institutional Planning; Ms. Krizanne I. Lanuza, Director for Finance Services; Hon. Pablito Benjamin P. Maggay II, Municipal Vice Mayor of Cervantes; Hon. Honora Moises, Sangguniang Bayan Member of Cervantes; Hon. Romeo Amilao,Sangguniang Bayan Member of Cervantes; Dr. Renato A. Sawey, Former Campus Director and Engr. Cornelio Carta, Contractor of Magmum Opus Construction OPC.

    The event highlighted ISPSC’s continuing commitment to providing quality facilities and strengthening academic services. The Academic Building – Phase I is expected to enhance campus infrastructure and provide students and faculty with a more conducive environment for teaching, learning, and other academic activities.

    In his message, Dr. Obrero expressed his gratitude for the continued support and collaboration in strengthening the College’s infrastructure and academic development. He also highlighted the College’s plans to for additional infrastructure projects next year, underscoring ISPSC’s commitment to providing improved learning facilities and a more conducive educational environment for students and the community.

    Meanwhile, Hon. Pablito Benjamin P. Maggay II delivered his message expressing their support for the project and the continued development of the ISPSC Cervantes Campus.

    The activity included the blessing of the site, followed by the unveiling of the building perspective, capsule laying, and ceremonial shoveling participated by college administrators, local government officials, the contractor, faculty and staff, and guests.

    The groundbreaking ceremony marks another step in ISPSC’s commitment to expanding its infrastructure and strengthening academic services, providing students and the community with improved learning facilities while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education (SDG 4) and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9).

    Through this development, ISPSC continues to invest in an educational environment that nurtures student potential, strengthens community partnerships, and creates opportunities for progress for generations to come.
