  • ISPSC, ISCC strengthen linkages through MOU signing

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) and Ilocos Sur Community College (ISCC) set to strengthen institutional collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony on September 22, 2026, at the RDETC Building of ISPSC.

    Dr. Jocelyn L. Absolor, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension and Dr. Jonathan L. Dela Cruz, Vice President for Academic Affairs in lieu of ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero, represented ISPSC, and Dr. Roel Palo Anicas, College Administrator represented ISCC. 

    Also present during the ceremony were Dr. Sheryl S. Morata, Campus Director of Main Campus; Dr. Ana Blesilda C. Atendido,Director of the UIP Center for Rural Health Research, Reform and Policy; Ms. Rose Marie Detran, Director for Extension; Ms. Jeneli Q. Wong, Chief of Rural Health Program Implementation and Outreach; Dr. Mandy Roie A. Atendido, Chief of Research Ethics Committee; Dr. Cecilia R. Vergara, Chief of Rural Health Systems Research;  Mr. Modesto N. Noble, Chief of Health Reform and Policy Advocacy; and Ms. Maribel Ibañez, Director for Gender and Development.

    For ISCC, the ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Cheryl Pilita Dolorica, OIC of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services; Dr. James Taiza, Director for Research & Development, Management, Community Extension Services, Institutional Planning and External Affairs & Linkages; Dr. Limuel Dolorico, Coordinator of School Disaster Reduction and Management; Mr. Ian Kenneth Rebula of Coordinator, Office of Research and Development; Ms. Christa Mae Tabuyo, Midwifery Principal; and Ms. Marie Graziella Ribunal, Midwifery Research Focal Person.

    The partnership focuses on strengthening cooperation in rural health research, policy development, extension services, instruction, and academic advancement particularly in undertaking joint research studies, academic presentations, conferences, training programs, curriculum enhancement, faculty and student development activities, and community extension programs.

    Beyond institutional collaboration, the MOU reflects the evolving role of ISPSC moving onwards University of Ilocos Philippines (UIP), committed to integrating instruction, research, development, extension, and community engagement in advancing responsive and inclusive higher education. (MVB)
